The Nature of Fear

What you fear, you will create. (Dr Phil)

...you're going to have to understand fear. I didn't say eliminate it, because you can't do that; you're not allowed. Even the masters had fear, but they learned how to balance it - they practised putting it in its place. You see, fear is in the human in a way that can't be removed. It has to be there for you to have your duality; it's part of the test. However, it has to be put behind you. All of the things that you might fear - even the subtle things - have to be identified, recognized, compartmentalized if need be and relegated to a place behind the layer that is divine.

But you might say, "Well Kryon, I've done that. I have no fear issues. Let's move on." Let me ask you healer, do you protect yourself when you work on humans who are in trouble? Do you have anything around you that will help you with the energetics so that those you heal will not affect you? Perhaps their negative energy interferes with your energy? Perhaps you have something to help with this? If you do, that's fear. Don't you trust your light? How divine do you have to be in order to approach lower energy without it affecting you? You're a piece of God! Everywhere you walk, you carry a bubble of divinity, and the only thing that's going to pierce that bubble is you. In your disbelief and your fear, you void your power. What is needed, rather than running away or controlling or suppressing or any other resistance, is understanding fear; that means, watch it, learn about it, come directly into contact with it. We are to learn about fear, not how to escape from it. (Jiddu Krishnamurti, 1895-1986 Indian Theosophist)

Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears. (Les Brown, 1945 American Speaker Author Trainer Motivator Lecturer)

The feeling of fear is inherent in the nature of the human psyche. It helps to keep you safe. It is natural to feel fear. You may now have fear of going to large cities, near military zones or of being in airplanes. If we may encourage you with this one idea, it is to not allow fear to keep you from experiencing your goals and passions in life. Do not allow fear to keep you from going where you feel you should be. Fear may keep you from venturing out and listening to the callings within you. Fear is natural and normal. We would only suggest that you do not continually feed your fear, as you would anger, by constantly recalling your negative life experiences... Realize that there truly is a divine purpose in all that has happened. There is a greatness that will grow out of this. (The Assembly of Light through Abby Haydon) - www.spiritualguidance.com

We pay a heavy price for our fear of failure. It is a powerful obstacle to growth. It assures the progressive narrowing of the personality and prevents exploration and experimentation. There is no learning without some difficulty and fumbling. If you want to keep on learning, you must keep on risking failure all your life. (John W. Gardner, 1912 American Educator Social Activist)

We are largely the playthings of our fears. In one, the fear of the dark; to another, of physical pain; to a third, of public ridicule; to a fifth, of loneliness - for all of us our particular creature awaits us in ambush. (Horace Walpole)

It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live. (Marcus Aurelius, 121-80 AD Roman Emperor Philosopher)

By the time we are women, fear is as familiar to us as air. It is our element. We live in it, we inhale it, we exhale it, and most of the time we do not even notice it. Instead of I am afraid, we say, I don't want to, or I don't know how, or I can't. (Andrea Dworkin, 1946 American Feminist Critic)

If you're never scared or embarrassed or hurt, it means you never take any chances. (Julia Sorel)

I can say, I am terribly frightened and fear is terrible and awful and it makes me uncomfortable, so I won't do that because it makes me uncomfortable. Or I could say get used to being uncomfortable. It is uncomfortable doing something that's risky. But so what? Do you want to stagnate and just be comfortable? (Barbara Streisand, 1942 American Singer Actress Director)

He who is afraid of a thing gives it power over him. (Moorish Proverb)

Fear secretes acids; but love and trust are sweet juices. (Henry Ward Beecher, 1813-1887 American Preacher Orator Writer)

Fear can be equated to the emotion that is experienced and expressed in feeling separated off from God and one's I AM Presence. Once the experience of separation from God/Goddess and one's I AM Presence is transcended, fear becomes an experience of the past and a state of divine union within the initiate can be sustained. Fear comes from uncertainty. When we are absolutely certain, whether of our worth or worthlessness, we are almost impervious to fear. Thus a feeling of utter unworthiness can be a source of courage. (Eric Hoffer, 1902-1983 American Author Philosopher)

Fear is simply the result of personality and attachment. As the personality entities are released that are in fear, and the attachment to the person, place, object or circumstance transmuted, the fear leaves leading to a greater since of freedom and joy, along with an expanding field that ascends into a yet higher bandwidth of vibration. Fear is the main source of superstition, and one of the main sources of cruelty. To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom. (Bertrand Russell, 1872-1970 British Philosopher Mathematician Essayist)

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. (Marianne Williamson) - www.marianne.com
