Appreciate the flower, appreciate the sky, appreciate the freeways, appreciate the recording equipment, appreciate friends, appreciate the food that you're eating, appreciate your clothing, appreciate something that is outside of you just until you get in the mode of appreciation, and then, every now and again, slip yourself in there as the object of appreciation and let it flow.

Appreciating is the thing! To be one who flows appreciation is really what you're after. To be one who gets appreciation is backwards, because it's almost always done from a lackful place. So, if it's something about me, I'm sort of tripped up, to begin with, because what I'm trying to flow my appreciation to is something that I'm trying to get appreciation from, and that's what sort of messes it all up, you see! So just get really good at appreciating. Get so good at appreciating, that you start to really notice, "Hmm, I'm connected, hmmm, I'm connected, hmmm, the Energy's flowing through me, oooh, I really got buzzed over that one!" What we see depends mainly on what we look for. (John Lubbock)

See as if you are child experiencing everything for the first time. Return to that state of awe and wonder as you felt water lapping against your skin, the sun warming your body, the touch of someone you love. Too quickly in your society you become so used to this stimuli so that you are bored and look for something or someone new to excite you. There is so much around you and it is ever changing, if you will just look at it with fresh eyes. Revisit places you go so often that you rush in and rush out. So often noises you block because they seem to annoy you are the sounds of industry, of life occurring. See how it would seem to someone who has never been there before and it will refresh you and your senses. Life moves so fast it is important to enjoy those moments that make life so worthwhile. Be still. Look at the colors in all their shading and contrasts… receive a new appreciation for everything around you… Living is something you suddenly look forward to and each day is a new adventure. Bring this new/renewed appreciation for the beauty that surrounds you full circle to where it began and see how you and everything you do and say is different. Do not waste such opportunities my dearest children. You are there such a short time. Make the most of everything that is offered to you and realize what gifts have been created to enhance this experience given to you by our Mother/Father God. It will be amazing that you are so loved and such wonder has been created for your pleasure. Once you learn the appreciation you must do all you can to preserve such generosity and kindness. Pay attention. Be aware how special the world around you is. Celebrate every day and make the most of it. (Barbara Rother) - www.Lightworker.com

Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old. (Franz Kafka)

Be happy with what you have and are, be generous with both, and you won't have to hunt for happiness. (William E. Gladstone)

…it is in gratitude for the gifts that the gifts grow… Be grateful for the small healings, the small openings, the small victories, and in that gratitude claim the wholeness of the larger vision. (Mary through Linda Dillion)

Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love and to work and to play and to look up at the stars. (Henry Van Dyke)

A man should always consider how much more unhappy he might be than he is. (Joseph Addison)

Appreciation is a wonderful thing; it makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well. (Voltaire)

The happiest is the person who suffers the least pain; the most miserable who enjoys the least pleasure. (Jean-Jacques Rousseau)

…honour and give thanks for your reality as it is - even if you feel unsupported at this time in your life, and in a state of poverty or lack of abundance in this life - give thanks for what you do receive at this time. It is the giving thanks for what you have received that truly opens your heart to further receive. Without an opening in the heart and an expansion of your heart, it is very difficult to receive more of any form of energy, whether it is money, friendship, light for the healing of your body, or whether it is simply more awareness and a raising of your consciousness. (Saint Germaine) - www.g-a-i-a.com

When life's problems seem overwhelming, look around and see what other people are coping with. You may consider yourself fortunate. (Ann Landers)

May we never let the things we can't have, or don't have, or shouldn't have, spoil our enjoyment of the things we do have and can have. As we value our happiness, let us not forget it, for one of the greatest lessons in life is learning to be happy without the things we cannot or should not have. (Richard L. Evans)

One can also learn to be grateful to be alive and capable of feeling. In order to recover a state of gratitude, one must open to one’s emotions. Many have numbed the field so extensively through the use of addictive substances such as alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs or the use of television and computers that there is little capability of the emotional body to spin in order to allow for the experience of feeling. Excessive use of alcohol, cigarettes, drugs and television or computers causes the emotional body to stagnate; when an emotional body does not spin, it leads to agitation and abusiveness in some and boredom and depression in others. Release the addictions and allow the subtle bodies to spin again and the heart to open, and one will begin to feel. In the feeling, now one can process the darker emotions of rage or depression and rise into another frequency founded upon gratitude, love and joy.

Gratitude expresses itself as thanks; thanks unto nature for supporting one’s choice to ascend; thanks unto one’s soul for moving one’s energy field and supporting one’s evolution; thanks unto Earth for providing a place for one to live one’s life and participate in a consensus reality; thanks unto those that one knows and loves and shares one’s life with. Children express gratitude very easily if they have not already shut their hearts and separated from their emotional bodies. As one spends time with children that remember how to love, one will learn to more freely move one’s field, open the heart and express however one feels in the moment, including gratitude, joy, humor, playfulness, enthusiasm and freedom. …continue to explore, play and learn. Most importantly, always have love within your heart for others. This is the key. Love is the most important aspect of your being and of all beings that God created within you. Only those to whom God is present in everything and who employ their reason in the highest degree and have true enjoyment in it know anything of true peace and have a real kingdom of heaven. (Meister Eckhart)

When your life is filled with the desire to see the holiness in everyday life, something magical happens: ordinary life becomes extraordinary, and the very process of life begins to nourish your soul! With each new circumstance that comes your way, another opportunity presents itself to nourish your soul. (Rabbi Harold Kushner)

Living in luxury has nothing to do with money and everything to do with perception and appreciation. I live in luxury and I don't have a big house, yacht, fancy car or unlimited shopping budget. On a material level, I have a warm bed to sleep in at night, food on my table every day, a car to drive, good health and enough money to meet my needs. Spiritually, I know that I am moving forward on my spiritual path and doing the work that I came here to do. I appreciate everything that I have and I am happy every day. I do fantasize about what I'd do if I won the lottery or inherited millions but it doesn't change my perception about the life that I currently live.

One of the Shift's important lessons is that of appreciation, and it teaches that we must be able to appreciate everything that we have in our lives. That doesn't mean that we can't have more than we currently have, just that we must be grateful for everything that is part of our present reality. When we take responsible for our reality, we quickly realize that at any moment in time, we have exactly what we believe and deserve that we can and should have, and no more. We created it; we have to appreciate it. If we want more, then we have to increase our appreciation for what we have while creating the opportunities for bigger, better and different things.

It is not by hating what we have today that we will attract a better job, new home or car, a loving relationship or more money in the future. It is only when we can walk in a spirit of gratitude that we create the energy that magnetizes other things to us. It's a lesson that many of us learn the hard way, struggling with what we don't want before we give up the struggle and learn to be happy with what we have in that moment. Then the blocks to what we want are removed and we find that other things magically appear on our path. Learning appreciation is challenging, especially if we are living in a reality that does not meet our needs or make us happy. Try creating an appreciation journal - each day, write down 5 things that you appreciate in your life, even if it is that you had dinner last night and have a job to go to in the morning, or that you have eyes to see with and can walk on your own two legs. This creates the energy of appreciation that will magnetize other things to you. And remind yourself, every day, that you live in the luxury that meets your own beliefs and perceptions, not those of someone else. (Jennifer Hoffman) - www.urielheals.com

The moment one gives close attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself. (Henry Miller)

You would much rather love than not love. You know how we know that? When you don't love, you feel miserable. You would much rather praise than criticize. You know how we know that? When you criticize you feel awful, and when you praise you feel wonderful. You would much rather know your success and know your value than to feel that you do not have value. You know how we know? Because we feel your pain when you choose the other. In other words, we think that it must be easy to know "the stove is hot." In other words, that does not feel good to put your hand on a hot stove. And we do not understand sometimes why it is so hard to take your hand off the stove. (Abraham through Esther Hicks) - www.abraham-hicks.com

Education is more than schooling. It is a cast of mind, a willingness to see the world with an endless sense of curiosity and wonder. If you would be truly educated, you must adopt this cast of mind. You must open yourself to the richness of your everyday experience - to your own emotions, to the movements of the heavens and the languages of birds, to the privations and successes of people in other lands and other times, to the artistry in the hands of the mechanic and the typist and the child. There is no limit to the learning that appears before us. It is enough to fill us each day a thousand times over. (Kent Nerburn)

Do we need to make a special effort to enjoy the beauty of the blue sky? Do we have to practice to be able to enjoy it? No, we just enjoy it. Each second, each minute of our lives can be like this. Wherever we are, any time, we have the capacity to enjoy the sunshine, the presence of each other, even the sensation of our breathing. We don't need to go to China to enjoy the blue sky. We don't have to travel into the future to enjoy our breathing. We can be in touch with these things right now. (Thich Nhat Hanh)

The opportunities for enjoyment in your life are limitless. If you feel you are not experiencing enough joy, you have only yourself to blame. (David E. Bresler)

Your DNA coding is layered in such a way that you will naturally unfold, and if you desire to bring forth or enhance the fullness of your own DNA, then we suggest you deal with life and give thanks for the foods you have, for the people who are part of your life, and for the family from whom you spring forth, both light and dark. Embracing your existence seeds your frequency into the ethers, and this in itself seeds the Earth, building your future. (The Pleiadians through Barbara Marciniak - From the book, Family of Light) - www.pleiadians.com

All my life, I thought of love as some kind of voluntary enslavement. Well, that’s a lie: freedom only exists when love is present. The person who gives him or herself wholly, the person who feels freest, is the person who loves most wholeheartedly. And the person who love wholeheartedly feels free. (Paulo Coelho)

Nobody has things just as they would like them. The thing to do is to make a success with what material I have. It is a sheer waste of time and soul-power to imagine what I would do if things were different. They are not different. (Frank Crane)

Our inability to see beauty doesn't suggest in the slightest that beauty is not there. Rather, it suggests that we are not looking carefully enough or with broad enough perspective to see the beauty. (Rabbi Harold Kushner)
